Our Mission

To empower others to create, transform, and grow through knowledge and understanding.

We take our mission seriously. For some, it is just another sentence or words on a wall, but for us, it is what we believe. Each of us, has come to realize that we are part of a bigger picture. Everyone plays a part. For Obvious Architecture, the part given to us is about helping other to be better. If that is in their job or their life. We also believe that through wisdom, knowledge, and understanding those goals can be obtained.

Several things were changed as we progressed to our final statement. Originally our statement included said clients and their organizations but that is a dream that is too small. We like to dream big.

Most importantly we decided to use the word empowering instead of enabling.

When someone is empowered, they have the ability to accomplish something ー and they know it, giving them the confidence needed to succeed.

Enabling is doing something challenging for another individual while empowering someone is teaching them to do it for themselves.

We strive to empower, obviously.

Our Motto

Empowering Through Knowledge, Obviously

Many iterations and alternatives were discovered during the ideation phase of our motto development. "Empowering" was chosen to use in our motto for the same reasons the mission statement was changed to use it.

“Through” represents the channel and signifies that it is the main route to achieve the goals. If we had used “with” then knowledge would have just been one tool and not the primary means.

"Knowledge" is the noun or item that is used to make our clients, our teams, and those we work with successful, whether that is through knowledge transfer, discovery, instruction, or direction, “knowledge” is the key to success.

“Obviously” is the differentiation. By using factors that are common or apparent to understand, the road to success becomes evident and easier to navigate. Clients learn how to focus on the important things, yet still deal with the minute items.

"Enabling is just letting someone keep doing what they have been doing."
